I use a long thick flat tipped screw driver. Once you dig through the frozen layer it's easy digging. As spring and summer approach that spot will get soaked, refreeze many times before it gets hot out. The grass will come up just fine and you won't even be able to tell I dug a 4 inch plug there. I wouldn't swing a hammer or even a little pick in a school yard or park as it just looks bad to do. Anyway that's how I do it and I don't have any problems.:garrett:

Thanks foi the info Ill give it a try later today
