Dirty washer turns out to be holed two cent piece !

Got out this morning for one of the few days of detecting this month because of the heat. Dug what I thought was a large flat washer but was surprised to see some coin details on it. Wiped off some dirt and realized it was probably a two center that was shot with a small caliber bullet. A quick peroxide bath brought out the 1864 date. Dug a couple wheaties and a buffalo nickel before it got too hot again. Felt good to dig a few since it's been a very slow month for finds !

Nice going Ed.:clapping: It's too bad that someone had to ruin it by putting that dang hole in it. At least you got out and swung a coil for awhile. Finds must really be getting slim as there sure hasn't been many finds being posted lately. HH and maybe your next two center won't have that hole in it.
