Disc setting Freedom Ace Plus.......

Eric

New member
I was lucky to buy a near mint freedom ace plus for next to nothing. I never saw one before and I like to look at it. In fact I like it a lot and dont find it ugly at all...
The balance feels great and seems to have a fast response but I have not been out with it yet. I want to use a 3.5x7'' eliptical on it that I bought recently.
I like to know what the best setting is to knock out small iron.

Thinking of buying another one if I like its performance. There are still a few for sale....

Thanks, Eric.

Basic, two knob detector, typical Garrett from the 80's. It has a "Trash" control (DISC) and "Depth" control (SENS). I have always liked the audio response on those Garretts. I also get a kick out of Garrett's use of the "trash" and "depth" names.
Les uses a similar detector, the Freedom III. It has a dual mode discrimination circuit much like the 1266-X.

I'd just go to the preset and work the trash control down a little bit using some rusty nails and ferrous junk, until I found the point I was looking for. Mark that spot with a dab of nail polish and there you go.
