DISCOVERY 3300 pin point mode

Hi All....im new here.....Im wondering if anyone could tell me if DISCOVERY 3300 pin point mode can be used as a regular search mode......say for small gold nuggets?...does this damage the unit to search in pin point for long periods of time?

Thanks

You would do better just to search in the all metal mode and dig all targets above 5 on the VID. Searching in pinpoint mode will not hurt the unit, but using the Disc A-M button to search in all metal will be much easier. I have found that you will find targets just as deep and it is very sensitive to small gold objects such as small rings.

I dont have any nuggets but yes it will pick up gold in all metal mode. Depth depending on the size.

Ok..thanks for that info..... where would I find the best coil avail. for bounty hunter?...is there any companies that make compatible coils for the 3300...most of my hunting is in the woods...thanks

No pinpoint mode will not hurt your detector and if you are looking for small nuggets that is your best bet.
You will need to pick up your coil off the ground, say 8" every once and a while and a repress the pinpoint button so the tuning will not be too far off (there is no SAT or threshold reset). I would set the ground balance so you can hear a tiny threshold if possible when lowering the coil to the ground. You can use any modern Bounty hunter coil and coils that are made for the F4 and F2 (the newest Fishers).
