Do all F5's have this problem?

Ah ? You need to provide more info than that my friend to get an answer !

Sorry, after finding a target the detector stops working for about 5 seconds then starts going again, hard to explain.

Doesn't sound right to me. Recovery speeds of any of the newer Fisher detectors should be much faster than 5 seconds!!! That's crazy.

Are you saying that if you were to place let's say...10 targets 6 inches apart and then run your coil at moderate swing speed from left to right and back again that the detector will only ID the first target adn will not sound off on the remaining targets until it's reset itself after 5 seconds?? If so send it back.

Try that little test and let us know how you make out.

n/t

No , it's not the overload signal, and if there were 5 coins in a row it will sound off on all of them.
Just sometimes after certain readings it will not work for a few seconds. Thanks for yours suggestions

hmmm.....the only delay I have ever noticed was on overload signals and they were not very long delays, maybe a "one-onethousand" in length.

Audio or visual delays or both? Can you repeat it over the same object?

Just thinking outloud before I say you need to send it to the doctor. Perhaps it only happens over large targets, like it might still be over it or something?

hmm. if its working in all metal your taking about it may be the same as the f4.. i work with it quite sensitive, ie you can hear a slight humm all the time, then after a target it will go quiet for a bit, but I think its still working as it locks on pretty fast to a target, or just the ground..
could be something completely different your talking about I suppose..

HMMM I think BThom is on to something - best explanation yet thanks , I'll try quickly dropping a coin on the ground and go over it when I think the f5 has gone quiet
