Does the 11" coil get that much more depth than the 9"

I'm still kicking the tires on the XP, I can't decide between the Deus of the CTX. I love the idea of lightweight and wireless, but, I know the Minelabs get the deep ones from expierence. Will the 11" setup on the XP keep up with CTX on depth. I need to know before I drop a couple of grand on either one. I live in the desert, so, waterproof isn't an issue for me as far as the CTX goes, thanks.

I just got the Deus and dont see a different in depth. LOTS to learn but its all there. I will likely sell my CTX.......

I have both CTX and 2-Deus, had 2 etracs previously, and a White's V3i. If I were going after a minelab and lived in a desert, I would opt for etrac over CTX. You will never see the 1,000 dollars price difference between them in the field. Plus an additional small coil for etrac won't break the bank. Back to the CTX vs Deus. The CTX will probably win by a smidge in the depth dept if the soil is at least moderately mineralized. In low to neutral soil I believe they are very, very close with edge going a smidge to Deus. As far as unmasking with both detectors having 11" coils. Deus clear winner. As far as which detector you can cover more square footage in same amount of time and effectively clean out the coins. Deus clear winner. As far as which detector will fatigue you the fastest. CTX outright clear winner. As far as finding small gold jewelry and chains. Deus is clear winner. As far as doing selective digging on manicured lawns. CTX is clear winner. As far as which detector is offered the latest software updates to maybe ensure peak performance. Deus is outright clear winner. As far as IDing most coins at depths below 8". CTX clear winner. Warranty. Deus is outright clear winner. As far as hiking to remote sites to detect. Deus is outright winner. As far as being able to see detector screen in bright sunlight-deserts seem to have lots of bright sun with few trees to shade. Deus is clear winner. Cost. Deus clear winner. As far as which detector will allow for a better more uniform coil sweep speed/height above the ground. Deus clear winner. If it starts raining. A tie as long as you can have Deus control head protected. Underwater. CTX outright clear winner. Changing coils. Deus clear winner. Tones. A tie. EMI handling. CTX wins by a smidge. Using in brush and tree limbs. Deus clear winner. Ever want another functioning like detector. Deus clear winner. All you need is the stick and coil.
I used to live in Tucson AZ. I would personally opt for a deus with 11" coil with backphones as long as the ground in my area wasn't too bad. Good luck in your decision.

I have several detectors from beep and digs to TIDs. The Deus is the ultimate beep and dig detector. Get the Deus with the 9in coil and you wont be dissapointed. The reason I say "Beep and Dig" is the Deus is an audio machine and TIDs only get in the way of finding the good stuff.hehe I recommend if you get one to go into the menu to the disc option, hit the expert button, set the tones to 5 tone, back out and go to Ground balance and
put it on tracking, take the remote and throw it in the car. Go out and dig every repeatable signal. Your going to dig a lot of trash but wont miss any good targets also and learn the sounds in the process. After doing this for several hunts you will start to know the sounds certain targets give. Then you can start to customize how you like to set it up for the area your in,. After you set it up for the area your in throw the remote back in the car.lol
example.. I have a program for a particular trashy closed drive in I go to. I select that program, throw the remote back in the car and commence to digging. Xmas day I found 3 silvers, a wheat and several pre 1965 clad coins there with my Vaquero. Dont need a screen to tell me if I need to dig or not, just dig.

@Welgund,thats exactly how i use my Deus,i do carry my controller with me but i dont use it very much apart from a few alterations to the settings,its all in the tones and that is what this machine is all about.
