Ok, been having some issues with my 705 and just wondering if anyone else encounters this. If I lightly bounce my coil up and down on the ground, it beeps each time the coil touched the ground. It didn't do this before that I can remember, just started.

I had about the same problem. Check all connections, batteries. If you can switch coils try that. I found my problem to be a loose wire in my headphones. Found after checking everything, when I hit my machine it would pull just enough on the wire to make it false.

If I'm running my sensitivity up to the max i can get away with, I notice that it will do that. At lower sensitivity settings it doesn't appear to react that way. I have had the coil bounce off a tuft of grass or some other obstacle that interrupts my usual even swing speed and rhythm and get a "false" or sudden signal that doesn't correspond to a metal target. I just attribute it to the nature of the beast when running on the ragged edge of instability.
I'm not saying don't check your connections, just don't panic.
