But the past 2 days have been pretty good at a local soccer field.
Tuesday I pulled in $2.35, and today I did a little bit better and got $3.62.
Also pulled a little junk, but that's expected.
Hoping to get back out tomorrow if it's not raining.
Still debating on the 5 x 10 DD. The ground is not mineralized
Only thing is I wish they'd come out with a bigger coil for the 305.
On the Ace the Excelerator 10 x 14 DD is a killer.

Happy Hunting

Congrats on the finds. If you're looking for a bigger coil, there is the elliptical HF DD you mentioned, or the 10.5 - inch DD in either MF or HF. If you want a really BIG coil, Coiltek makes a 15" round DD at 7.5 kHz that will work with your 305.

bruce1036...

Post those finds and comments/questions on the X-Terra 305! I used a 305 for awhile and thought it was great. I now use both the 505 and 705 and my main go to coils are the 6" DD HF for trashy areas and the 10.5 DD MF for all other areas. I'm usually detecting in pretty highly mineralized soils and find the DD works best for me. The few times I get to hunt in less mineralized areas I still go back to the stock CC coil.

Good hunting!

Don't mind the fact that it's a 305. It worries me a bit that 30/305 feel a bit uncomfortable about posting because it's not "top of the tree'. I personally consider it to be every bit as effective as the other 2. Personally, if ever I update my 70, it will be with a 305 or whatever replaces it.
Coiltek have the 15 inch DD coil which is a great coil for ground coverage. For it's size, it's actually relativley light. If it's too much money, I think that the 5x10 coil is the go. It's one of my favourite X-terra coils. I prefer it over the 15 inch due to superior target seperation and lightness.

Way to go Bruce.

Go ahead and get the 5 x 10 DD coil, you'll love it. It's much lighter than the stock coil and it covers ground really fast. It seems to have plenty of depth and it hits nickels really hard. I've got the 505 now and I can't tell if it's any deeper than my old 305. I seriously doubt if the 705 is any deeper than the 305. At any rate, the 305 will find the good stuff.

The X-Terras are all very good detectors.

Took mine out for the first day. ( spent 3 days before work reading and, working out the manual)
Cherry picked $1 & $ 2 coins (AUSTRALIA)

Nice start with the 305.. I wish the dollar coins would start circulating more here in the U.S. They need to discontinue the one dollar bill here.

In my opinion, the 305 is the perfect coin shooter for Aussie coins. The notching is perfect for modern coins. Better than the 70 in my oppinion. You'll love it. Such a simple and effective detector. Enjoy it.
