The mono coils work fine every where I go. Brandy Station Virginia has some of the worst soil on the planet and the "Heater" knocked it right out with the stock 11" coil but you must use the ground balance I.D. mode when hunting land sites with bad iron soil.On the salt water beach I hunt in the straight PI mode and check targets in ground balance id mode. Here is a cool trick to eliminate digging zinc pennies and most coins in general except the nickle. Since gold and platinum is all I want to find I hunt in straight PI and set the gb/disc control into the negative area( counter clock wise)When I check the target in disc. ID coins will give no reading, low conductors will be high tone. It works great. The six inch GS5 coil is terrific, period!
