We had a few hot ( 80 to 90 degrees) days but the rain keeps coming back. Hope it ain't like one year when it rained up to the Fourth of July. Glad everyone else is getting out and finding a few goodies. On the days I have been out pickings have been real slim. Don't know if it's the lousy economy or the fact everybody and their dog has a detector. Places I've always hit that gave up a couple of bucks or more ain't giving up squat now. I'm lucky if I find twenty or thirty cents. Getting real frustrating.
Few years back I had a regular route of off-the-beaten-path playgrounds that gave up $5.00 to $8.00 every time I hit them then they dried up as others discovered them. At one of my favorite former hot spots a few years back I picked up $7.50 under one tree while my partner hunted the adjacent ball field and picked up about $6.75. At one park we hunted he picked up over $7.00 in one pile in the corner of a volley ball court. I picked up a little over $5.00 hunting elsewhere. Recently I hit that same park and found about twenty some cents.Tecting just ain't as much fun as it used to be. I may have to take up needle point or something.
