Just seen a pair of gloves advertised which have a built in metal detector. Slipping the hand into the glove switches it on and the indication is by a vibrating alarm in the wrist band. Reminded me of the time I built a special search coil moulded into the sole of a shoe. Together with a probe disguised in one side of a pair of crutches, it is just the gear to use on those off limits areas so as not to attract attention. All they would see would be a crippled old man swinging an injured foot across the grass and occasionally stopping to poke the ground with his crutch. Sometimes he would fall over and fan the ground with his gloved hand before levering himself up on the other crutch, (which contains a coring tool), putting his hand in his pocket and carrying on.
For info on the gloves, go to http://starportuk.com/index.html
Eric.
