Dry ground digs.

Well-known member
Although some area's right in and around my home base have received some much needed rain in the past couple of days, one of my favorite spots seemingly hasn't received any, but I have continued to frequent it this week. As a result I have been able to make some nice silver finds as well as putting a hole in one of my Columbia digging shoes from pushing my Predator Little Eagle into the hard ground. I opted out of digging in soft ground this morning with a couple of buddies and went back and hunted on a large field that has produced numerous silvers and wheat cents over the past few months. And, I am glad I did. I only dug 7 or 8 targets in total this morning, but 4 were silver. A sterling Religious medal, a 62d Rosie, (very 1st target dug) and a 23 and 44 Merc's. Earlier in the week I was hunting side walk strips around an old housing site and nailed a 43 Washington and 2 other Merc. dimes. A 20d and a 24d. Also got the no date Buffalo nickel, smashed gold plated ring and the U S Navy Honorable Discharge pin. Mid week I did a little clad popping one afternoon and got the 14k gold band beside a soccer field. All in all, the F 75 LTD has served me nicely this week. Hunting the side walk strips I had on the 5" coil and ran in de mode, sen 70, disc 7 and 4h tones. Today hunting the big field I had on the 11" dd coil, de mode, sen 85, disc 7, 3h tones and a g b of 74-77. HH jim tn

Those are some nice finds Jim. You and that F75 seem to get alone just great. Excellent!!! Great hunts.....Z

Great finds Jim. CCH

Way to go Jim.

It looks you made a wise choice going back to your favorite hunting grounds. I didn't do so bad myself. My Tesoro Outlaw found me a nice chucky 925 silver heart ring. Chris loaded up his finds pouch with coins. The cooler weather, cloud cover and wet ground made hunting and digging a breeze.

Very nice display! Congrats on those fine silvers and the gold!:clapping: Man, punching a hole in your stomping foot is a sign of a real diehard!

Wow Jim, nice silver and finds. That machine sure is light compared to many others.

Good job on the nice digs jim, ground is hard as a rock here also, but worth the efort when there's silver to be found!!!! Hey couldnt help but notice you mentoined running in DE mode both times out,is it because of emi problems?.........hh rick in mi.

No emi issues, rick. Just re-trying different modes and settings once again. de mode may have less falsing, but not sure as it never was a problem for me. B P is for sure the mode for my tall grass and brush hunting, though. Every where around me now has received some nice moisture, so may get me a new pair of digging steps. HH jim tn
