DXF vs MXT

Hi Folks, I had to get rid of my MXT and now I am going to get another detector. My question is, is the DFX worth the extra money over a MXT? I did well with my MXT but I thought I might like the multi notch filters and hunting with both frequencys. Is the DFX any deeper than the MXT? Any body out there that has used or owned both that can help me out. Thanks a bunch, Mike M

I got the MXT and my girlfriend ask why she didnt have one,so I got a DFX for me.I liked the DFX,the learning time takes longer.I think both are so close to each other. One day I came home and almost everthing was gone, the only thing in the house was the sofa,tv and both whites.I sold the DFX.My choice MXT.
You can just look at the knobs and see the settings and not have to scroll to check your presets. The DFX is great just not for me.

MIKE: IN MY OPINION THE DFX IS BETTER AT GETTING THE COIN NEXT TO TRASH BETTER THAN MXT,WHICH I NOW USE. I LIKED THE NOTCH FEATURE ON DFX. IN MY 34 YRS OF DETECTING I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THAT THE 2 FREQ. DETECTOR HAS AN EDGE ON THE SINGLE (MXT) DETECTOR ALSO IT HAS MORE FEATURES, UNLESS MONEY IS AN ISSUE.

Thanks Tom and Bob, I had that same thing happen a long time ago, I had the sofa left and a can of fruit coctail with cyclimates in it <img src="/metal/html/frown.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":("> . I get along with computers and menus ok and I like to experiment I just want to be sure that one is as deep as the other. When I got my first mxt I got a dime I believe it was a dime or maybe a quarter at right at 7 inches but most of the time i had problems getting targets over 5 inches, I was hoping to get another 2 inches or so. I hunt mostly coins and jewlery in trashy areas. Mike M

Mike, If have had both machines and they are great
machines. I personally prefer the MXT because of its
simplicity and raw power. I think it has the edge
on depth and I believe processor speed/recovery
seems better. When I had the DFX, I had basically
two programs that I ran and just left the machine
alone. A lot of people like the whistles and bells
and that's great but it's just not my "cup of tea."
Either choice is a good choice, a win/win situation.
Have fun and HH, RichardnTn

I bought the DFX and then the MXT--My DFX gathers dust --I like the MXT with the 14 inch ELIMINATOR (Its the only loop I use now)--So far my deepest coin has been a Quarter at 12 inches--Some day I am getting the 18 in ELIMINATOR----------deathwind1
