E-Trac and Deus users what would be the best way to set up Deus to be like using TTF on E-trac?

Well I have had my Deus for only a few weeks but it seems like it should be easy.
Menu, Tones, Expert, 2 Tone....
Set the first tone the lowest (say 200)
Set the 2nd tone highest say (800)
Set the disc to 10 (that gets rid of iron) everything else will ring conductive high tone....

I think that would do it, but as a newbie myself I can't say difinitively that this is the best approach....anyone smarter n me welcome to correct my thinking here....

The reason people opt for the Two Tone Ferrous (TTF) setup on the E-Trac is for what . . . . . . to pick out non-ferrous targets from ferrous junk . . . . and why it is that needed?

The recovery time of FBS detectors suffers in trashy sites . . . requiring smaller coils, slower sweep speeds or the use of TTF if you find yourself in a constant null.

Now without starting an FBS war on this statedment, I will say that I have pulled many great finds from nulls with Explorers and E-Tracs over the years so when someone says nothing will be detected when the threshold nulls out, I have to look at that statement with a questioning glance.

Regardless, the advantage that the Deus has is that the recovery speed is considerably faster than the FBS detectors and as a result, is able to see seperate targets and provide visual / audio identifcation of the individual targets.

The Deus is also not providing both the CO and FE components of a target so that would eliminate the TTF approach - you are looking at the CO values with the Deus if you want to make a Minelab analogy.

MTNFLYER4FUN's post does provide somewhat of a TTF approach . . . . but as he indicated, not the best way to setup the Deus with the additonal caabilities that it provides.

Sometimes trying to compare detector A to detector B is not a viable option . . . . it is better to look at how each detector handles specific challenges and the Deus is far better in high trash than other detectors due to the rapid recovery speed. The TTF option on the E-Trac is simply the way you are able to pull stuff from trashy sites with FBS circuitry . . .

Hope I have not stirred up a hornet's nest

Andy

Two tone setting with deus is a good option. Especially in nail ridden areas. It all depends on how many different tones you are willing to hear and exactly what kind of targets you are willing to dig. If you want to deplete an area of as much nonferrous material as possible with deus it works very well as long as you vary your freqs and reactivity settings while at the site you are wanting to deplete of nonferrous material. 2 tone has its uses that's why XP included it on the deus programming. And too many tones can get you into trouble if you're not careful. The human brain/ear work in mysterious ways.
