E Trac Headphones?

davehutton

New member
I just purchased a used Minelab E-Trac but it didn't come with any headphones. I would appreciate advise : 1) are headphones are really helpful and/or 2) if I need headphones, what is the most reasonable, considering the cost.

Thank You,
Dave

IMHO, headphones are nearly impossible to live without. Those beginning to have hearing loss etc they are invaluable and those who can still hear well they still help a lot. I like the fact it makes the detector silent and nearby people dont get mad about constant beeping. Plus, if you’re near someone who knows the sport can tell when you get good signals. Colder days, like ear muffs, windy days, like blocks that noise. Price? What you can afford but inexpensive better that nothing. I upgraded to Gray Ghost’s and its like comparing high end home speakers to cheap radio speakers.

Headphones always.
I use the Quest Wirefree Pro headphones with my FBS & CZ detectors it's nice not being tethered to the detector.

I used the TDK WR700 wireless HPs on my Explorer SE and the Etrac. No lag IMO and many other users. The asking prices on them today are unreal. I decided to hoard a second set back when they were reasonably priced. They were quite the item in their days.

It is the Kleer technology that makes them standout.

My last post assumed you were going to want wireless, sorry. Yes, headphones are needed, assuming you stick with the metal detecting hobby. As far as available HPs? There are tons of wired HPs that works with the Etrac. Get ones with a 1/8" connector, or you will be buying adapters. Otherwise, wired headphones for the Etrac is an easy purchase and not expensive. Hope this helps.
