Early moning hunt

dig it DanO

The heat and heat index has been so high here in the south. I got up very early and was at one of my local parks at sun rise with the X705. I started with the LF coil in an open area of the park and done pretty good quickly. I dug some clad and 5 wheats and 2 mercs. After a while I decided to end it due to heat. I worked my way back to my car and noticed a shady area from a short line of trees. I felt better hunting in the shade that was only about 50 or 60 feet long and about 7 foot wide. I picked out a few clad quarters in this very trashy area. It was so trashy and my car was close and I did have my 6 inch HF DD in the car.
I changed coils and hunted this narrow shady area. I dug enough clad to cover batteries and a cold drink. I also squeezed out a Rosey dime and 1 wheat in the shade.

Nice finds . I have got to get the low frequency coil for my 70.

Nice Morning hunt,Do you normally start out with the LF coil? How deep were most of your finds? Sure gets exciting when you start getting the good stuff.

I used the LF coil because I had not used it much at this park. The LF coil is the last one that I purchased and I like it for the type hunting that I do. (recreational coin rescue)
The coins were about 5 and 6 inchs deep. I almost left the Rosey dime 5 inches deep. It was surrounded by trash with a small rusted screw 2 inches above and over it.
Thanks for looking.............. DanO

Well done Dan.

Do you have the elliptical 18.5 kHz?

It's a killer coil.....TheMarshall

Yes I do have the elliptical HF coil, 6 inch DD HF, and the 10.5 HF DD. I like em all.

You've got the winning combination, as far as I am concerned. 9-inch concentric at 3 kHz for the open areas. And the 6-inch DD at 18.75 kHz for those tight spots requiring more target separation. Congrats on the finds. And thanks for sharing. HH Randy
