Ebay fraud....WARNING......

Some guys are offering minelab detectors for a starting price from 44 to 100 $ and have links to lead you to their email address outside from Ebay. Item location shows some place in the US but the seller is in germany or england. Looks like some guys try to make some money with stolen user IDs.

I reported that to ebay and some listings have already been removed. Watch out !!!!!

Thanks Andy for the 'heads up'. Never noticed the people but have seen a few of those low starting prices on Explorers. Again thanks Andy.

Almost weekly now I am getting a fake message from one of these hackers! They are pretending someone else violated your account. Then they ask for your user name and password. This is happening for ebay and paypal accounts. I say never give user name and password over computer, call them if you think it is real. What I notice is one word is usually spelled wrong>>>>A DEAD GIVE AWAY! Good luck everyone!

Let me first say that the comment to contact the seller and ask them if their account has been hijacked is a bad idea. If the account has been hijack so hasn't the e-mail!

Look for the obvious in the body of the ad, " contact me at xxx@gmail.com, xxx@aol.com, xxx@yahoo.com to "pre-qualify", "buy it now", etc Bear in mind that if there is an e-mail address in the ad, this doesn't mean it's a fake. For example, xxx@comcast.net, xxx@charter.net These are paid and registered e-mail addresses that can be traced back to the owners

Look at the sellers usual items. You can do this two ways, look at their feedback or click on advanced search and then click on seller. See what they have done in the last 30 days. If all they were selling was the occasional "woman

hi bugar!
yeah! i know what you are talkin' about!..the only way to beat them is wait until the last 30 seconds, then re bid!.the game is to make the other guy run out of time, and the system ending all bidding at the close of the clock! i admit it doesn't seem fair, however these people are cute, and will do this all the time,so you h ave to be ready for it,and beat them at their own game!..the computer doesn't care about what is right and just,it just knows who wins and who doesn't!

regards!

I was bidding on a Whites DFX on eBay and did not win the bidding. After the bidding I received a email in my personal MSN account saying I was being offered a official eBAY SECOND CHANCE to buy the detector at my last bid. The mail said to send mail to a specific AOL mail address to follow up.

This is a fishing expedition. If it is a legitimate eBay transaction for a Second Chance or Buy it Now offer following up on a item, that email will be sent to your eBay MY ACCOUNT profile under your MY MESSAGES category.
