edge question

New member
what should i set my edge at going to a 1600 to 1700 place would like to find some old canon balls what number should they read thanks?

A cannonball of that era is solid iron. They also came in all different sizes. One will probably be deep so that will affect/weaken the ID number too. The 18 lb. one I found was a high tone, but you never know. Best bet at a place that old is to just dig all your positive numbers. That's the best advice I can give...
Good luck,
bill
