Public Service Announcement: if any one is having EMI problems with your Teknetics detectors look at the F-forum there are some things we have tried that you can do that WORKS that helps a lot its as close as your local Radio Shack. HH:detecting:

Hey Guys,

First, thanks Cache Man for the mention of the thread.

It had been a couple of years since I had taken out my T2 here in Germany, so that explains my long layoff between posts. But I just started back up again last week. I was in front of my house yesterday and my detector was going crazy. If I stepped a few feet back it seemed to calm down. Even when I lowered the sensitivity it only helped minimally. At other times things were ok where a few minutes before my detector was going crazy. Not sure if someone turned on some device to create the EMI.

EMI Chokes seem to really help (mentioned in the below thread). And others tried shielding tape in the control box which seemed to help as well, though the EMI Choke was the easiest and best imo (and doesn't void the warranty!).

Anyway, here is the link that Cache Man was referring to: EMI Cure for the F Series
It is worth a read. I'm going to look for a EMI Choke (but what do you call that in German? :sadwalk: )

they used a braided strap from the board and taped it to the back of the housing and then sprayed R.F. shield on the inside completely covering the braided strap and control housing.. It was a very quiet machine...Wonder why they Stopped???

you took yours apart? well then you ought know the answer to that one, cheaper for them to build it without it, its all about bottom line, as long as you will purchase without them them want fix, they need to save that $5.00 if they sell a million units then they make more profit . HH :detecting:
