EMI

Hey Everyone! I am a little new to the XP Deus and was just wondering why I keep getting loud EMI? I realize you can’t quiet it fully but no matter what I try it won’t go down. Any suggestions?

XP DEUS, ETRAC

Not enough information provided to work with.

What coil, frequency, programs, settings? What kind of site(s)? Any obvious sources close by. Any electronics carried?

A video showing what you are doing and hearing would be best.

I carry a cell phone and use a 9” coil I hunt old homesites but there are usually power lines around. No specific frequency because I’m trying to figure out if their is a good program or settings I can use that can somewhat lower all that chatter down.

So what make you think it is EMI? What program are you using and with what settings?

Have you watched YouTube videos of the Deus in operation so you understand what it should sound like? Have you watched the XP videos?

If you are hunting in the city I get tons of EMI but the good signals seem to come through. But their are places it's dead quiet.

It's just the nature of the beast. It would be helpful to post a YouTube video so we can hear what you are hearing. I have had a lot of detectors over the years and the Deus is the worst I have seen as far as EMI is concerned but I have also had my best finds in my 20 years of hunting.

Just post a video and we can tell you for sure if it's normal.

Have you simply tried turning off your cell phone to see if it helps?
They constantly communicate with cell towers, even when not on a call.

I know I've been badly affected by people walking by with phones.

one thing I discovered was My Galaxy phone caused it to Chatter then Did something to stop it simply switched it into airplane mode and stopped all the chatter but this did not help when I was close to any Urban areas with apartments of condos as these give off a lot of wifi signals so sometimes theres not much you can do with it
