empty lot down the road

I went down to this empty lot today, right down the road from me where a house once stood, hunted for an hour that I had, and not one coin in that time. Here is the junk I found, nothing impressive that is for sure. The top right is a brass ring of of something, bottom left looks like part of a candle holder or something it is brass, a key to maybe wind a clock? it is brass, a knob off of something, and the round disk I have no idea, it is brass too..........not a good day

I will go back when I have more time. The house was blown down by a tornado 5-6 years ago. So who knows what is there? I am just surprised I did not even find a penny, I went all around the foundation, all around the driveway and around all large trees. That was all the time I had.

No telling what else is there. Too bad you don't have an MXT. It kicks butt in depth
and would probably uncover much more. Make sure you go back when you have more time

Now if your really industrious and know anyone with
a snow plow who might scrape away a few inches of dirt for you.....
well that a bit extreme but you never know what you might find.:)-)

Are you in the "Black Swap" area of Van Wert county? If so, things sink in that black sandy loam in a relative hurry. I have a picture of Greg from Van Wert when he dug an old beaver tail pull tab at an honest measured 7". If something aluminum will sink like that then silver should be a foot deep. Where the land has been disturbed it won't sink as fast though. Turn up your sensitivity until the detector starts making popping noises then back it down one or two notches to make it stable. Only use this high setting on open areas and not around playground equipment. This setting can overload your sizing a little but will help with deep targets. It will drive you nuts in trash too.

Oh. Ok then, wait until he starts tearing things up and see if he will let you MD in the upturned dirt.
Good luck.

That is a cool key. I vote for a clock key.
