This puppy is a rare find indeed. Made for Kellyco by Discovery, this is basically a Treasure Baron with the ProHunter (minus the flashy LED's). We're talking deep and sensitive and about as common as hen's teeth. I got this in a package deal with a Cointrax Baron and I'm keeping the Cointrax. The Cobra has had both a ground balance and threshold adjustment added and he did a really nice job of it. Testing this unit out shows that, in all metal mode, it will at least match a Vaquero in sensitivity and is more sensitive in Disc. mode since it basically goes down to all-metal accept in disc. It has both a varible notch (size & location) and 2 tone disc. with a pushbutton iron/salt accept/reject. This is one deep detector designed by George Payne, one of the pioneers of modern detectors. It's in decent condition and works well and.. here's the only downside; the coil around the mounting ears had some cracks that I capillary welded with Methyl Chloride. Probably doesn't matter much since there's fiberglass underneath, but I ain't gonna lie about it. You can barely see them on the pic's, so we're not talking gaping chasms. Anyway, that's why I'm selling it for so little. I also think that Mr. Bill at Surfscanner Detectors sells coils (and Cointrax Barons). The price of this puppy is $225 USD shipped/insured in N.
