Environmental Cover

The only dislike I have with my X-Terra 70 is the environmental cover that I purchased. It is very hard to get off and on, and you must do this every time you need to change the batteries. Also because it has no bottom, dirt easily enters the cover. I ordered and just received a cover that is very well made and well worth the cost and shipping. I share this information with other X-Terra owners who have experienced the same frustration.

The cover can be ordered from Detecnicks Ltd, 3 Orchard Cresent, Arundel Road, Fontwell West Sussex, BN18OD (sales@detecnicks.co.uk) $28.31 US and $5.00 post.

That looks real good , alot better tahn the standard one.

Can you detect in the rain if you have that on ?

Very nice cover Tom! I got one very similar from thesaurusdetecting. Thay make a huge difference, Beale.

Yeah, I too purchased one from thesaurusdetecting and it looks to be identical to Tom's. Probably the best cover for a detector I've had.

I've been using a zip lock bag that zips up almost around the whole box and I punch a small hole for the head phones but that looks much more convenient. I'm wondering if it's as water proof (resistant) as the zip bag. Thanks for the info.

The material on these is Cordura ans thick. The plastic is well made. I would hunt in a light rain in a minute in mine, Beale.

Tom,
How did you pay with US$? I wrote and she wrote me back that I could pay with Paypal and sent me an e mail address. Not sure how to do this. Hope you can help.
Thanks
Chuck

That e-mail addy is her pay pal ID. If you have an account you go to the site type in the seller's e-mail addy and send funds through pay pal, Beale.

Turned my cover inside out and trimmed the excess material left past the stitch. Fits better and easier to get on and off. I like the MineLab emblem on top.

Sorry I haven't responded. Been out of town for a few days. I normally don't hunt in the rain but one never knows when you might get caught in the rain. The cover is very heavy and will probably keep the unit dry. But I decided to tape the plastic and spray the cover in Camp Dry heavy duty water repellent. It makes me feel better even if it doesn't help. Thanks Beale for fielding some of the questions while I was gone. You were right on the money. HHTomB

Just ordered mine from Detecnicks Lts. Great folks to deal with and very personalized service. Ordering thru PayPal allows those of us in the USA to pay with $$.
