make an adapter for the SD series that would convert a DD coil into a figure 8 to help cancell
extreme EMF interferance? Or must the anti-phase connection be done within the coil housing?

Russ, I think that Eric is away for the next two weeks. As a point of interest regarding the SD series, can you let me know the max depth that the SD gets on both a nickel and a penny? I am trying to see how well my homebrew PI compares to the big boys, Dave. * * *

Dave , electrical interferance prevents me from conveniently making an Air Test of a penny and a nickel.
I'll try it with a GP and Email you the results
Terry Crenshaw did some testing between an Aquastar and the SD2200d one of the targets was a gold nugget and the Aquastar saw it 4" further in the air but the Aquastar did not like the ground in the gold fields.
Dave if your iron disc. idea works I do not believe you will need to meet the depth of "the best" PI's to have a successful product

has anyone done any tests with a modified sd2000 I believe they are pretty hot on small gold.
