Eric, what is the max voltage I can use on Beachscan?

I guess this question is for Eric. I have a NiCad battery pack which I would like to use in my Beachscan but would like to know if the voltage is too high. It measureses at 13.8 volts when fully charged. Thanks, John.

Hi JCP,
13.8V from a fully charged Nicad pack will be OK. The voltage will drop back anyway after a while, but there is nothing that will be damaged at this voltage. However, for those that have Beachscans, I am not advocating raising the battery voltage to get a bit more power. The Beachscan is designed for a nominal supply voltage of 12V with a safety tolerance that takes into account the variation of battery voltage that normally occurs for new or freshly charged cells.
Eric.
