Eric,
Is there a noticable differance between a unipolar pulse and a bipolar pulse PI? To overcome the polarization problem couldn't you just have a longer off time? I building a PI for gold nugget prospecting in mineralized soil and would welcome your advice.
Thank you,
Randy Seden

Hi Randy,
At this point in time, I do not know which is best. Geophysicists use bipolar pulses to prevent induced polarisation effects in the ground. This is a capacitive type of polarisation though, rather than magnetic. Last week I tried a PI detector with bipolar pulses, to see if there was any difference in the response to a magnetic hot rock. There wasn
