Eurotek Pro First Hunt- Newbie Review

I didn't have a lot of money that I could spend and I asked for advice for the best detector that my $250 could buy. A seasoned metal detectorist friend told me that the Eurotek Pro would not disappoint, so I bought one this weekend. My friend and his buddy met me at the MD shop and we went for a hunt after I bought my detector. Both of the guys that I went hunting with have over 20 years experience and I have 3 months experience total. The little Eurotek Pro did what it was supposed to do and then some. I dug more clad than both of the guys that I was hunting with and they were both using the Garrett AT Pro units.:clapping: We all had a great time and dug some cool other stuff as well as the clad. I love the way that this detector will discriminate out iron targets (set the volume to 11 to still hear iron but drop the volume of iron tones) and still let me find stuff. Both of the guys that I was hunting with liked the little unit so much, they will both be purchasing one very soon. The unit is very lite and easy to use. The VDI was new to me but it was very accurate with the identifications and the depth of the buried targets. With the ground that we were hunting being saturated with recent rains, I had to turn the sensitivity down very low but I still dug a dime at 9 inches.:super:I could not be any happier with my purchase and I would recommend it to anyone that wants a good detector.

DigDug you made the right choice, I'm a 23 year detector vet and I love the simplicity of this machine and the vco middle tone is just to sweet, and it's a deep seeker you don't the price reflect the performance it a coin killer! Congrats on a wise choice !

Finally got mine out this weekend and it is one heck of a machine for the money. Pulled a 1944 Mercury Dime out of an iron laden homesite (more like a trash dump)

I have the 11" coil, I have to wonder how much better it would do with one of the smaller coils.

I just purchased an NEL sharpshooter coil for mine. Can't wait to get out there to try it out after this snow melts. It' should be a killer in iron infested sites.

Have you air tested it yet?

I think I may try out the 5"DD

Yes I did and it goes deeper and separates better then the stock 8 in. coil.

Just recieved the EP coil today will try to get out later this week

I sure wil Mark ,it does add a little weight to it , but will keep yaw posted

Im looking into either the 5" or the 9.5x5.5. I have the nel hunter and gains 1.5 inches over coincentric coil. It is a razor blade in the ground. Sharp detection line. Pulled a wheat from a small landfill. Hard to catch the sounds. Would be great in fields and open areas with some trash.
Wonder what the comparison between the 5" and the 9.5x5.5 is .. Depth and seperatiom wise. Usually smaller coils you can turn the sensitivty up a little higher
