ever think how long it takes you to pay off your machine

I was out in the field today learning the xp deus and as I was digging up yet another bottle cap followed by a quarter, then another can slaw. I thought to myself I am going to try and keep a tally to see how long it take this machine to pay for it's self ( once I learn it ) I have a pocket full of change and a Bag of trash I have dug up with her so far. Anyone else keep track of what you find to see how long it takes to pay for your machine ?

I found my first trime where other people had pounded in the middle of a iron field a couple of weeks after I got it and I knew I had a winner at that point paid for itself. btw I run full tones and me and my son in law went to the old ice cream store they tore down and had a coin shootout I dug 33 clad coins and he got 7 with his at pro not a fair fight but I didnt tell him that. I could call my coins before I dug them most of the time so keep practicing you will get better with your machine. dug a few bottle caps at first but then got the feel for them.If you need a good trash program let me know.

A detector will pay for itself ... that is a fact ... but only if you take it out and use it.

Beach hunting (fresh or saltwater) offers a better opportunity to find valuable items that can quickly return your investment.
Also targets are a lot easier and quicker to recover improving your odds of finding something good.

It dont take a fancy or expensive detector to hunt the dry or damp beach sand.
Wet saltwater sand is different and a more expensive multi-frequency detector will work a lot better than a single freq one.

Summer is upon us folks and people are flocking to the beaches and losing loot every weekend.
Go and get you some.

I payed off two! $5,000.00 minelab 5000,S in just a couple of months in gold. I had found. One for my uncle and one for me. Grubstake

Just some of it.

Wow Grubstake what did you find with the XP deus or was it a minelab that found that ? That is some Pretty Gold

If you buy a machine with the intent of paying it off with the bounty you find......you may have to wait a while to get it paid off...LOL

I paid for my Deus with the savings on batteries and Ibuprofen.... :clapping:

For me detecting is all about the "possibility". You never know what you might dig up... Holding that three ringer that hasn't seen light in 150 years and wondering what was going through that soldiers mind when he dropped it- amazing! And every once in a while you dig something that is worth hundreds or even thousands of dollars, that is a rush! I have paid for my Deus with digging one hole.

live in a country that uses $1 and $2 coins, learn what they sound like and you'll have a chance....

I happen to live in such a country and yes, have done well in this regard....

cheers...

I can hardly wait for the $5 dollar coin, bring it on !!!!!!!!

DFB

From the very moment I took it out and my first swing it paid for itself. It is not always about what you find in the ground it's about what you find in your soul...

Low-boy? Was that the Deus or the Morphin Power Ranger model?

In less than a year I've found about $200 in clad so far, couple that with the saved cost of batteries, exercise, and rings, earings, bracelets, necklaces and other gold and silver bits I've found in addition to the relics and "value" wise, I've found more than I paid for the detector.
When I come home with gold in hand for her and some sparkly stones, the wifey doesn't mind what the detector cost.

Never think about it. That's not why we hunt. Playing golf, hunting and fishing can be much more expensive and much less rewarding. There's no feeling like pulling a beautiful old coin, relic or nice ring from the ground.

This hobby largely replaced deer hunting for me for that specific reason of time spent vs rewards earned. I still hunt, but not nearly to the extent I used to. Now it's playing in the dirt!!!
