EX II coils

I have read a few posts about stock size coils for the EXP II that are lighter in weight and perform as well or better than the stock coil. I would like to reduce the weight at the end of the stem without sacrificing performance. Anyone got any experience with such an animal?

I find that is is slightly bigger, but less weight, better balance an would do slightly better than the stock coil.
We are all waiting to see what the new Platypus coil will do that is comming out, but it sounds like it too will be a winner on the Explorer.

Rick,
The windings in the stock 10.5" coil are actually 10" so the X-12 is 2 1/2" larger and is approx. 2 oz. lighter.
