Excal 2

iv only had 1 Excal ll and it was much deeper than the 3 CZ20's and 1 CZ21 i had ...i never had any problems with it at all.the only time it would act up is if i ran the sensitivity too high.in the "churn" salt sand moving over the coil. iv got a new one coming tomorrow, hope i don't have your problems. i found about 1 O'clock was about where i could run it on my beach in the water and about 11 O'clock dry sand

Hey Bling, Let me know how your new one does. I just bought a new one myself and am still waiting for it to get to me.

You are not going to have an issue with the 8", more than likely. Most issues are with the 10" and I believe it is the Slimline coil. The solution, either BBS or Tornado coil. An experienced Excal user(whose name shall remain anonymous) swapped the Slimline, with a Tornado and presto, all was well.

i just wonder if it was in the seal or connection that swapping the coil out made a diff? not the coil itself?

No telling Bling, I will be interested in your personal findings though, since you have used the unit already, with success. Maybe it is resolved now, who knows?

Bling, thank you for your reply. Makes lots of sense on the churn of sand moving over coil. Talked with MineLab yesterday and will be sending in for surgery :sadwalk: Hopefully it will be a new baby when it comes back.
