I did it again today, one Silver ring and a nice junk ring, also a junk bracelet and a surfers medal. all in the wet sand. Gene

Way to go, your on a hot streak.

Very nice finds! I'm especially impressed because I wouldn't consider the beach conditions all that great at the present time but what do I know? Still learning. Are you finding many coins as well?

Thanks David, but the key to my success is, find a coin bed and go slow. I find most all my jewelry in the coin beds. Where there are lots of coins, and like Gulf Hunter said,Where there are lead weights, you will have a very good chance of gold and silver. Gene

Does the jewelry usually go deeper than the coins in the coin beds?Just so we can get a perspective on coin weight lets say, quarter vs a wedding band and a mans ring which is heavier.

To me it's impossible to say what depth you will find any target. the ocean has no rules on where it will deposit goodies. I have found gold rings one inch down and a penny a foot down a couple of feet away. I work the wet sand all the time. and the depths very every inch. It's just hard to say. I just go slow and dig all target above my iron or null. So If anyone knows how deep things are going to be, post it. I've never figured it out. So I just enjoy detecting and the surprise of what the target might be. And you meet some interesting people. Good luck and have fun, Gene
