Sent my old blue Excal 1000 to Detector Center, requesting o-ring service, calibration check, and adjusting a couple of the pots that were out of sync. I also informed them that I was interested in replacing the stock coil with a smaller coil, and wanted to discuss that further with them, as I am not too informative regarding aftermarket coils.
They received the detector on a Monday a week ago, and four days later I received a call from Minelab indicated the detector required replacement of the pinpoint POT, calibration was complete, and O-rings serviced. I informed them I was interested in an 8" coil, but was wary of aftermarket coils. It just happened to turn out that Dan had a brand new stock 8" Minelab BBS coil if I wanted it, which, of course, I did.
So today I have my detector back in hand completely serviced, with a new coil to boot. Turnaround time: 9 days. Cost: $297.00
Can't beat that.
