Excalibur failure or me ?

JUst bought a used Excalibur both batteries had charges in them . I used up the charge in both batteries but can't seem to recharge either of them . I'm not very good with electricity but I'll try anything once. Have any suggestions?

Possibilities..........

Outlet wore out......charger not making connection.
Have seen this too many times, but not with my chargers. Saw it happen on much used outlets with other devices.

Charger fried.

Bad connection to battery pack.

Both batteries got bad at same time.........not likely.

Do you have a volt meter?? Also look at the connectors for the charger to battery pack connection and inspect for damage.

connectors from batt. to charger look ok. I think its a fried charger, Agreed 2 batteries that Will not charge is not the batt.

See if you can measure the output voltage of the charger without shorting it out. Should be around 18 Volts DC.

If you don't get anything, then plug the charger into a different outlet and try again. If still nothing then the charger is bad.

If you have cats or dogs, cord chewing is a possibility. Check the charger cord for tooth marks.

A note about bad outlets...
Sometimes the screws holding the wires on get loose.
Sometimes the contacts get worn out and don't make good connection with plugs. This stuff usually starts out intermittent then gets worse.
