Excalibur hip/chest/shoulder mount adapter

Given the weight and balance of the Excalibur I could tell my arm wouldn't last more than an hour or two so built this hip mount adapter.
The quick disconnect lets me use either the belt loop for hip mount purposes or a snap ring (not shown) chest mounting to a D ring. Also since I swim like a rock if I get into trouble in the water I can dump the heavy gear quickly and scramble for air.
In hipmount form the machine hangs down vertically like a sidearm out of my way verses a horizontal hip mount which I saw advertised a few places. I put the Excalibur up on my hip horizontal and it seemed to stick out in the way. Anyway I may be a beach hunting noob but at least I'll look cool with my gun slinger type hip mount!
The tube is polished aluminum, hardware is stainless.

Here's a pic with the Excalibur attached.

The Excalibur and their other units are really superb, & I know many people just love em including myself....but there is always that "But It gets So Heavy" line I always hear....I would love to see them lighten up their unit designs in the future so people wont have to hipmount, straight rod, or whatever
homemade ingeneous aftermarket methods we have to come up with to enjoy hunting with the ML units...I'd bet they would sell so many more...
hey this old man just turned 52 can't I vent?
hahaha
what do ya think?

then sissys could use them. We don't need a bunch of girly men running around with Minelabs. Makes us look bad. Everyone wants to make things easier? What happened to achieving things even though they were hard? Now everyones motto is, "Lets make everything easier and easier so we can get fatter and fatter." I personally can't stand it. If things are too easy I look for ways to improve my pain to gain ratio. Putting rocks in your shoes is effective. Buying a Minelab with that crummy angled handle helps. Forgetting the sunscreen and never wearing sunglasses on bright days can make you an achiever. Forgetting to charge the battery. Never bringing anything to eat or drink can make you feel like you've earned your clad. See you out there.

I'm intrigued by your Excal setup. Could you post a couple of pics from a slightly greater distance so we can see the whole rig?
Thanks.

Be careful hanging it hip-mount that way Charles. I had mine like that and the wire gave out near the pod within the first 2 or 3 hours!

do it like max has!!! support the wire coming out of the pod so's it doesn't have any movement there!
