Excalibur II Settings for SC and FL beaches

What settings are preferred for those beaches listed? Also is there a better time to use the ALL METAL mode as opposed to the DISC mode with the Excal. II ?

Start in Disc and learn your machine. Then fool around with the AM settings (it just adds a little more depth). For disc hunting I use : Disc 1, Sens between 6-8 (depending on conditions),vol 3/4 full,Threshold just barely audible. I started using the threshold just under where I could hear it as I did not like hearing the null tone and feeling as though I had to reset the thresh tone with my scoop (waving it near the coil to set the tone back to just barely audible). No I tune up the threshold allowing me to hear the nulls as those are sometimes good target that I haven't gone over at the proper angle. Give every null a few sweeps and really listen to it.
