Excalibur Straight Shaft Question

Pardon me for asking this again, as I am sure it has be asked before. What is the favorite way to go with a straight shaft for the Excalibur? Thanks for any advice, Ray.

I'm not sure what the favorite way is, but the way I went was with a Bill Babb straight shaft that I got from KellyCo. It has a nice feel and balance. I also got the optional knob guard which protects the knobs and keeps them from backing out and falling off as well. Here are a couple of pics.

Ray,
I've tried several varieties and they all take the weight off and make it seem like a whole new detector. The one I have been using recently and really like is the "Baker Straight Shaft" marketed by Rick Baker. Cost is about $55 which is well worth the advantages a straight shaft (from anyone) provides to Excalibur users.

I'm now using a really great straight shaft made by Mark Taylor. I've tried several shafts and this one has the best feel and balance. Contact me if you want Mark's email or phone number. ~John
