Excellerator Coils

Can anyone tell me or tell me where to find out about the differences in the Excellerator coils for the Explorers. I have seen three and all were different. First one was oddly shaped and did not appear to be molded well. Have two more which look the same from the top but one is thicker and has smooth sides where the other is dimpled. Any info on the age of these and how well they work is greatly appreciated. thanks Steve i

Steve,
Apparently the early excellerator coils were smooth and sort of a creme color. I have and old 14" that is that way and works fine but seems a little heavy. I purchased an 18" somewhat later that was similar in appearance but had difficulty mounting it to my lower shaft. I eventually made some small temporary modifications to a lower shaft and used it several times and then decided that it was defective. I believe I sqeeked in just under the warranty period and recieved a replacement that was black with a rougher surface, seemed lighter and works great!I now primarily use my 15" WOT. That is, when I get a chance to get out and the weather is cooperating. Hope this helps.
Chuck
