I know somebody won't believe me.... not that it matters....but these coins came out of the ground as they are in the pic.....I did not even use water/spit (though I've been told some tap water is not good to use anyway)........the 1914 Barber dime is probably the best conditioned coin I've ever pulled. The 1907 is an O.... not a rare date... and the Merc is early in that series. They were found in Hackett's Park in Easton Pa.
I hunted the main park before with limited success and went back to have another go...... well I started working my way down into the woods and looking over an imbankment saw an old spring house?........didn't find squat so I left and came back the next day and went down below the park in the woods where the spring house was.......that's where I found the skirt weight...its the largest and nicest one I ever found...not that its worth anything.... well after pulling about 6000 shot gun shells.....I left again...........well on Easter I went out really early because my kids had a egg hunt.......I hunted the woods hard to no avail and on my way out I found a trail that looked promising.......I started getting these deep target shots and started digging slag blanks........what a bummer because they hit at 31 and say large coin......well they are about the size of a large coin but they are just metal tick you off-ers........so I continued down the trail and bang (really on the explorer it like a lilt)......a little song and bang 4-5 inches the mercury popped...two feet away bang the first barber....two feet away again bang the other Barber......I was juiced when I went home.............................. well obviously today I went back.....shut out.....do you believe it.....I found one lincoln with the memorial on the back..................not what you want to see.....I like the wheat ears.........
Will I go back tomorrow ?...........I'll keep you posted.....
