The SE is "hotter than a fire cracker"...very sensitive whereas the EX2 is is a "smooth operator"
...less chirping.
Some feel the EX2 does better in iron...and I used to be one of 'em. Now however I don't feel that way.
The SE ID's while the in all metal pinpoint mode and the EX2 does not. This is an invaluable tool on helping make the final decision on whether or not to dig.
I'm sure there are a few more subtle differnces but the above three are probably the most noticeable.
