Explorer II VS Explorer XS

I have been using the Explorer XS for about 4 years and love it. One of my buddys is selling his Explorer II so i thought i would try it out and maybe upgrade. I used it this weekend and it seens like the explorer II is so Erratic compared to the XS. Has anyone else noticed this or have any ideas what would cause this?

Personally would keep the XS unless you would prefer two numbers instead of one coming up on the screen in that mode..Methinks the 11 model may need a trip to the factory as should run as smooth as the XS. A call to Minelab U.S.A. may be the way to go, but why fix what ain't broke is my reasoning and go what works for you..Early XS had some cosmetic problems but Minelab corrected that and yours works well so basically stay put....I use a XS but have put on the new Explorer lower black rod which is improved design and stronger plastic and use a Bill Badds metal armcup ala Whites velcro armrest so good to go and two numbers do nothing for me on the 11 model...should be basically the same relative depth and stability...
