took my explorer xs out today for the first time since i got it a few weeks ago all i have been able to do with is in the house to cold out and frozen, things are thawed now. any ihave read and re read the manual and andys book. in the first 10 or so mins in the yard i found some pennies and quarters no big deal but fun . and i found a dime in the same hole as iron iwas trying to do as andys book out lined and i guess it worked . a little while later i dug a wheat penny at 12 ins this thing is amazing. not great finds but just trying to get the hang of it. next outing i will try my quattro havent really tryied it either
 
Sounds like you made good use of your "in house" time. "I have read and reread my manual and Andy's book" now to me, that sounds like a man on a mission <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> I do imagine you'll have a sucessful mission at that. Reading your manual, Andy's book, the DVD/Video and fellow Explorer/Quattro owners posts will advance you much faster. Sounds like you are doing great..Have a local club member or know any Explorer users. Well a couple of days with a patient mentor can really help cut down on the learning period..After years of detecting and trying them all have come to this conclusion. Switching back and forth between an Explorer and a Quattro just may confuse you as they are both Minelabs , but different machines. Guess it all depends on the individual..Hard to believe sold all my machines and when I hunt its either going to be an Explorer or an Explorer as I now have two..Indeed a nice forum with many knowlegable members willing to help so feel free..
 
i think i might sel the quattro and the explorer xs and buy an explorer 11 i like the explorer .trying to learn both is hard but i would rather learn the explorer i think >
