Explorer Noises

When I am out learning my detector, my Explorer often makes a low toned thunk at the end of a swing when I am in my learned siver program. I don't expect any low tones with only a small white square in the upper right of the smart window. I have heard this in other modes but is is pretty predominate in this program. Any ideas why this is?
I know as a newbie, I shoudl use factory setting. I am in the field, but I am learning the other capabilities of the machine.
Thanks,
Kalvin

its probably the explorer blocking out junk do you have it on man or auto? when i hunt in man whith my wot it chirps and thumps everytime i hit a twig trust me if you hit silver it will ring loud and clear the xs makes noises trust me .

Leonard,
I hear these in either man or auto sensitivity mode. It has been know to make noise when I hit something with my coil but it also does it when I am just sweeping.
Thanks,
Kalvin

Probably not good contact somewhere or just try to reload the soft. One time i had similar case having beep when touching outside connection near housing. Reloading and fixing the connection more tough helped.

Do you have the x-1 probe on the machine? I had a bad connection in the switch box on mine and it did that real bad. Also do you have the cords wrapped around the shaft snug? Don't want anything flopping around. This is not a normal thing although I have never tried hunting with just a tiny box accepted.
Like the others said check all connections and make sure they are tight. If that does not help try a different coil and see if it goes away.
Then there is always the ML service center...
Good luck and HH - Robin

Have you thought about removing your coil scuff cover to see if theres dirt or water rattling about inside. surprising how many people dont bother to do this and wonder why they get falsing sounds while they are swinging.
