Explorer on gold

JJ

Member
Hello, I'm not familiar at all with the Explorer series and am possibly considering one in the future. My question today is how the explorer does on gold? Gold either at the beach, in the park, or in the nugget patch. I really cant seem to find anything anywhere on how the explorer does on gold. I'm not really talking about how gold registers on the COND or FER, I'm talking about the recovery rate of gold with this machine in general. Is this at all a gold machine? Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks! TC & HH, JJ

Go to the second page here on the Explorer Forum---scroll down to title "Prospecting and the Explorer".---You can read the question & response there-----Del

That's for the nugget side of things, right?

Then see http://www.findmall.com/read.php?19,762718,762718#msg-762718 for how one (darn good) detectorist does on the beach on gold.

Not counting an actual "Gold" machine which uses special frequencies you would be better off with an X Terra 70. I use one as well as my Explorer. You can get a different frequency coil which will help with gold recovery. The X Terra 70 is very popular with the Australians in nugget hunting. Mine has found relics and coins no problem down as deep as my Explorer. The 6 inch DD coil is a great coil on that machine. The 70 allows a much quicker swing speed. something useful on the beach or field.

Thank you for all the feedback. This really will help me make a decision in the not so distant future. TC&HH, JJ
