Explorer screen help wanted

Neil

Well-known member
I have a hard time seeing the screen clearly on my EXII. Ive tried the different contrast settings, using the backlight(funny but at night with the backllight on is the only time I get a real good full view of the screen), and also car window tinting sheets as someone recommended. Its not a defective screen either as Ive seen enough other Explorers.

I find myself shifting the detector around and even using my body to block light just to get a clear view. Any suggestions on making this more easily viewable?

Thanks,
Neil

Neil, I would try a lower contrast number and I also cut out a piece of thin plastic note book backing and sandwiched it between velcro mounted on top of the control box then have the piece so that it will slide out far enough to shield the direct sunlight. Hope this helps, it works for me.

Thanks Steve I will give that a try. Kinda like a visor I think your saying. Makes sense.

I tried that too and my only solution was to go digital and even that was not always successful. IMHO the screen on the EX2 really sucks compared to others. Don't get me wrong, I really like the machine (I have 2) but I think that there must be a way for Minelab to come up with a better screen
