This machine is solid Quality. I set it in "coins" preset and will go hunting with it this afternoon. The 6X10 Joey coil is light and detects almost as deep as the 11" butterfly, and is a lot lighter. I only lose 1" on a test garden silver dime with the Joey, reaching only 8" instead of 9" as with the butterfly. Clads peter out at 7+ inches, though, regardless of which coil I am using. I'm a newbie for the Minelab, though I've been detecting at least 30 years, but I probably haven't set it up correctly yet. But I did set the sensativity at 32 because our soil in Louisiana is not heavily mineralized with iron oxide, and the sites I hunt are fairly free from lift tabs. The rechargeables are charging while I now go take a nap and wait for the heat to go down a little. Look out, world, Here I come.
