With the VCO pinpoint the X1 probe probably won't be needed and this is a weight savings. The 2 oz from the coil probably won't mean much. Many of us use a smaller (lighter) coil than the standard 10". I will probably still use the swingiee thing.
 
The total weight is just under 3 ounces less
