Explorer Xs Mod...

I finally accumulated enough stuff to make it happen.
I know that some will ask why mod older technology. Well it's one of my favorite detectors and I just wanted to make it more ergonomic.
I have more pics but they're too large to post here.
Lastly the parts used are White's surfMaster upper and lower shaft, tallman S rod, Garrett arm cuff.

That is a great set up. I wonder how the wooden tie ins will hold up. Very well I hope. Again great mod!

It's 2 pieces of light weight scrap lumber I had laying around. First I carved the pieces to fit their respective locations. Then drilled a pilot hole to tie them together with a 3" star drive deck screw. Glued them together with titebond III, assembled with the deck screw. Lastly I stained the assembly with Watco exterior stain and 2 coats of polyurethane.

It never lies to me on deep targets.
