F 70 a clad magnet today Hunt #2

New member
Well my hunt #2 with the F70 , Started out dissapointing I went to a late 1800 early 1900 homstead and got nothing. I went back over a few areas with the f2 since I am use to it just in case and still nothing. Grass was high in some areas and it was difficulct so on the way home. I said what the heck I hit a couple of tot lots The F70 was on it today pulled 11 Quarters 10 dimes 6 nickles and 20 pennies , and a ring that made my heart skip a beat when I saw the silver band but turned out to be a kids junk ring , But over all a good day hunting here in tacoma Wa. gonna head up to seattle and hit some major high traffic parks monday morning. will post a pic if i find the camera charger.

All right! Good detecting Stryker. For your second hunt that is a good coin count. My first few hunts weren't that good. I thought I was doing good with 10 to 20 Coins.
Here in Wisconsin the tot lots are only about 6" deep so I run the F70 about 55 Sens and Disc @ 20 Tone 3H and Thres @ -3. It is crushed gravel, tarp or some liner under sand or wood chips on most of the tot lots here. Maybe like that all over? I don't know? You really don't have to run for deep digging. Much foil in some of the lots.
My #73 hunt got me 10 quarters, 7 dimes, 5 nickels and 29 pennies.
Your doing great. Keep up the good work.... Happy Trails....Z

The pits are the same here 6-8 inches deep mostly wood chips some have shredded rubber those are nice, coin bounces to the top lol. I was running sens at 50 discrm 20, -3 thresh she was nice and quiet till i hit something then it sang like a song bird starting to get the hang of this machine a lot to learn but thank you for the tips Z they made life alot easier. Stryker p.s trying to post a pic but cant get it to upload

Happy to help. Just remember they are just suggestions. All of us has to find what is best for your own type of detecting. That is why the F70 is so nice it adjusts to so many different kind of hunters. By the way it works great on beaches. That is the type of hunting I do the most. I live near many beaches on Lake Michigan and use to hit 7 beaches. This year I am mostly hitting one. I hit the second one yesterday and picked up those 49 coins. I run it at 75 to 80 Sens, Disc@ 10, Thres@ -3 to 0, Tone@ 2H. To many tones hitting on the beach and it is to confusing. I stop to investigate to many false signals. I much rather have a quieter detector because a noisy detector drains me after a few hours. Enough!
Keep up the good work and Happy Trails..... Z
Oh, maybe your picture size is too big? It will not upload if too big...
