F 70 NO JEWELRY

TAINO64

New member
HI everyone, I have a few weeks with my F70, and found a lot of coins(NEW) but not jewelry yet. Any information will be helpful.
I have done tests with different gold jewelers on and off the field to get an idea. Till now I think the F70 is a killer in coins, especially in quarter, definitely much more sensitive than my AT PRO.
THANKS FOR THE HELP.

If you walk over the jewely, the F70 will find it. Just because you have not found
any does not mean the unit is not capable etc...

There are others who had the F70 much longer than I had mine and they have
found a bunch of jewelry.

I tried a whole bunch of detectors the past few years including the top of the
line units for several brands. I really like the F70 and have no plans on
getting rid of it.

Thanks for answering, I understand very well what you say, I did not said that F70 is not capable of finding jewelry. I want to know what numbers are more common in the machine for jewelry. Thank you

Heres the bummer about gold...it can be anywhere...Theres some really great posts on almost every forum about the range of gold and what signal it gives on different machines.
Bottom line is small womens rings are in the foil section of your F70...from the high teens to high 20's...with most 2gr being popular and in 23-26.
a heavier womens wedding band can be in the low 30's smack in the nickle reading, a girls class ring will be right above that in the pulltab reading 36-39ish, a mens wedding band too. A mens class ring will be in the zinc penny area, 60 range, chains and charms can be anywhere, especially chains, which can be very low...So young Jedi, you sort of have to get good at rapid target retrieval...if you commit to dig 1000 zinc pennys and 1000 pulltabs as fast as you can, you will learn a lot. By dig I mean l stab if shallow 3" deep on up signals, with a screwdriver instead of actually digging a hole with a trowel.. you will be amazed at what you learn about pinpointing and targets signals with this excersize. You will also get good at thinking about where gold might be, for instance in a totlot, every foil signal needs to be inspected..why? because mothers take their kids to totlots, and thats what size ring they wear...around BB courts, think about chains, why? cause thats what bb players like to sport...If you get enough targets, the gold just shows up unexpected sometimes..its a matter of covering ground, getting targets and the odds, which you can increase by hunting areas where gold is most likely lost, and THINKING about the location and depth of the signal..ie, "what is this zinc penny doing 6" deep in the middle of the football field?" .read craigslist lost and found section, you will see where most gold rings are lost, and thats just about anywhere!.

You can try this: sens 53, disc 1-15, thresh -3, DE mode, DP tones, dont notch out foil...yes if you get over silver, like you said about quarters, you will not miss, same with little gold rings, you wont miss them with this program...seems to really work comfortably and fairly deep too, you will still be hitting those coins, and should be crossing over silver/gold/plat eventually, you have to investigate any unusual signals, thats why I like DP, it gives a different sound for every integer on the 0-99 tid scale. If you are stabbing at a signal with a screwdriver, and dont hit it right away, dont walk off! those rings are hard to stab since they got a big hole in them, especially nickles, dimes or pennys...you should be able to stab them on about 3 trys or less. so if you dont hit the target quickly, slow down and recheck the signal and gently probe around for the object. If you are in a totlot with metal poles, take special care of the overload signal when you get close to them, if the signal gets disrupted, but is not identifyable, you have some other target in there close but hard to pinpoint, so just drag the chips, gravel or sand out of there with the side of your foot, and sweep it in the clear. You want those unusual non-solid signals for chains...they might be balled up or laying flat, they may or may not have a charm on them, if you happen to find a charm or medalion, gold or silver, slow down and sweep the area for the chain it fell off of. Remember, if its a fine chain, its not gonna sound like much of anything, just the clasp. Lastly, location...I bet you a dollar theres a ring at your local school right at the edge of the parking lot where the teachers park and where they walk into the school along the sidewalk..so those high probability places are searched with confidence and concentration, Good Luck!

Tain064 the F70 is a very good coin machine. If you are finding coins you will find jewelry. Many pieces of jewelry will show up as coin numbers and sounds. The best way I can tell you is if you keep digging coins you will stumble across some jewelry. Some jewelry very nice others not so nice. I have had my F70 about 3 years. I have found over 10,000 coins with F70 and I had a ring box fulled with gold/silver rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, charms, pendents. I sold my gold/silver. I also have a Baby Wipes plastic box full of junk jewelry. My ring box is starting to fill up again, slowly.
If you are just looking for jewelry you will be disappointed with just about every hunt. I really think we all stumble across jewelry.
I only dig coin numbers and coin numbers that are very tight this only works up to about 4" down. 99 percent of my coins are in that range. If the numbers are jumping around 57,58,59 that is usually a badly eaten zinc penny most of the time. Is it a good target? or would I want to dig 100 bad targets with that jumpy numbers? no!!!! 60-61 is a zinc penny, some times a bent up screw cap. Dug a lot of those guys. Many of the guys do not like the way I hunt but its me digging and they are at home criticizing my poor detecting techniques. That is what this hobby is all about. You can fit it to your preferred way to hunt. There is no right or wrong. It is a preferred way of hunting.
I go out to have fun and dig some coins. If jewelry/silver shows up it just is a better hunt. Finding 120 pennies is a good hunt to me.
Hope this helps.....Z
