I recently won an F-75 Special edition. How do I tell if it is a base model, or has the Boost ???? The big sticker on the front says it has DST, FA, 4 levels of Fe tones, and adjustable audio pitch. I've been told these options are an expensive upgrade?

On a new detector those options are standard, on older units that didn't come with those options you could send them back to the factory and have options added. That is what I did with my F75LTD and I had to pay extra for all the adds.
Now they have made several colors of detectors but the standard one has a gold color shaft and would not have the boost processor. The other one has a black shaft and it should have the boost processor.
The best way to tell for sure is fire it up and run through the menu and run through the processors, you should see FA, DE, JE, PF, BC, BP (is the Boost Processor) and CL.
